A one-stop digital platform that allows businesses to manage all Safaricom merchant services in one place, including Paybill, Till, Bill Manager, Lipa na M-PESA Online (LNM), Merchant Bulk Payments, Bulk Airtime/Bundles, Split Payments, and account insights.
Any business or organization with a registered Safaricom merchant account.
You can sign up on the M-Pesa Business Hub by clicking the sign-up button and enter your first/last name, email address and phone number. You will then receive a successful registration link with further instructions on how to change password and login.
You can log in to the M-Pesa Business Hub using your email and password and your registered business administrator or Finance contact. Future updates will include mobile app access.
No. Existing M-PESA Business Portal (MBP) users and other Safaricom merchant service users will be migrated automatically. You will just need to verify and update your details upon first login.
M-PESA Business Till is an enhanced Lipa Na M-PESA Buy Goods Till that allows business owners not only to receive payments, but also use collected funds directly to run their business.
With a Business Till, you can:

Application Status Meanings:The Till SIM card is only for receiving payment notifications and cannot be used to transact.
Ways to get or replace a Till SIM:Note: You cannot replace another person Till SIM.
You can withdraw to owner, withdraw from agent, withdraw to bank, pay Business Till, pay Paybill, pay mobile number, sell airtime, and check balance through *234# from the nominated number.
Follow this menu path: M-PESA Business Till, enter Head Office/Store Number, then choose Withdraw Funds, Make Payments, Sell Airtime, or Account Services based on transaction type.
Each transaction requires operator ID and PIN, and you receive screen and SMS confirmations after successful initiation/completion.
This is a self-service, on-demand email statement service available for daily, monthly, and yearly periods.
Statements are also accessible via the Business App.
Dial *234# from nominated number, select M-PESA Business Till, enter Head Office/Store number, then select M-PESA Statements and choose Register for email statements.
Accept terms, enter and confirm email address, then enter operator ID and PIN.
OTP verification can be done on USSD (Verify email using OTP) or via email validation flow. You receive SMS confirmation after successful registration.
You can request 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, or custom period statements. Statements are sent to your email.
For statements older than 6 months, visit a Safaricom shop with ID or email M-PESABusiness@Safaricom.co.ke.
Use *234#, select M-PESA Business Till, then M-PESA Statements, choose Full Statements and period, then enter operator ID and PIN to submit.
Additional options available under statements include Change Email, Resend OTP, Cancel Registration, and Opt Out.
Only the Primary Operator can create an assistant.
Paybill is a cash collection service that allows an organization to collect money on a regular basis from customers through M-PESA.
Payments are customer-initiated, and the receiving organization may use a unique identifier such as an account number to identify the payer.
The customer enters the organization business number (Paybill number) when making payment.
Submit your application and required documentation on https://hub.m-pesaforbusiness.co.ke/. Processing is done within 24 hours after successful submission.
This is the Paybill number used by customers to make payments through Lipa Na M-PESA.
Each business category has specific required documents as shown on the portal. View categories and document requirements on https://hub.m-pesaforbusiness.co.ke/.
No. Only the business owner, merchant, or aggregator can apply for a Paybill number.
The applicant is the person filling in the application form and submitting required documents on the portal.
Using the nominated mobile number captured on the application form, dial *234*4# and follow the prompts.
You may also manage your account on the M-PESA Business Hub: https://hub.m-pesaforbusiness.co.ke/. Login credentials are sent to the administrator email during account creation.
This is a USSD code used by the nominated Paybill owner number to withdraw funds to bank and check Paybill balance.
Note: You can only withdraw funds to the bank account provided during the application process.

This is the ability to receive funds in the bank immediately after initiating a withdrawal request.

Log in to the self-onboarding portal at and open My Applications, then enter the mobile number used during application. Only the applicant can view status.
A Short-Term Paybill is a product that enables the raising of funds for different needs e.g., medical bills, funerals, weddings, education, and for charity/catastrophe, etc. It is designed to be used for a short period to serve a specific goal.
When applying for the short-term Paybill, each type of Paybill has specific documents required as will be shown on the portal, i.e. medical Paybill will require different documents than a wedding Paybill.
Yes, one can apply on behalf of a beneficiary, minor, or a group.
The applicant is the person filling in the application form details and submitting the required documents on the online portal.
A beneficiary is the recipient or the person in need of the funds collected on the short-term Paybill.
Log in to the portal – and click on “my applications” tab. Only the applicant can view the status of the application.
A Short-Term Paybill is valid for a maximum duration of 6 months.
You can withdraw funds as well as make payments to another Paybill, Till, or mobile number.
Therefore, instead of withdrawing funds, you can pay bills directly from your Paybill.

This is a USSD code used to withdraw funds to the bank and check the balance on the Paybill.
Note: You can only withdraw funds to the bank account provided during the application process.

A Short-Term Paybill is valid for up to 6 months, after which it is closed and cannot receive funds. Ensure you withdraw funds before expiry.
Kindly send an email to M-PESABusiness@safaricom.co.ke and include the Paybill number, requested extension duration, and supporting documents (for example, an updated hospital letter signed by a doctor within 30 days validity).
The Business One Account service enables organizations to use one Lipa na M-PESA shortcode to collect and disburse funds.
Organizations with Paybill, B2C, or both can be onboarded on One Account. For new customers, both products are added during onboarding.
You are required to apply for both Paybill and B2C services first.

No. This is an optional service. Organizations can still choose to keep separate shortcodes for Paybill and B2C.

Yes. On Business One Account, a Business Web Operator assigned to the Paybill product can disburse funds. However, any disbursement initiated must still be approved by another operator with the Business Manager role.

You can disburse funds only to Safaricom, Airtel Kenya, or Telkom Kenya subscribers registered on their respective mobile money services such as M-PESA, Airtel Money, and T-Kash.
No. B2C is for payments from businesses to customers mobile phones. Shortcode-to-shortcode payments use B2B (Business to Business) service.
The maximum number is 20,000.
An M-PESA-registered customer can receive up to KSh 150,000 per transaction, subject to the maximum customer account balance of KSh 300,000.
Individuals receive funds up to the available balance, while the rest do not receive funds and the transaction status reads failed.
The organization making the payment can choose to send the exact amount or include the withdrawal charge. Further guidance is in the attached manual.
Yes, you can apply for a buy goods, business Till/short & long term Paybill as well as B2C on M-Pesa Business Hub. Simply open the link and click on Apply for a Till/paybill and select the product.
To know the status of a pending application, click on “My Applications” tab and enter your phone number to receive a unique OTP (PIN) sent via SMS. A list of all applications made by you shall be displayed. Only the applicant can view the status of the application.
